Women in Tech Aberdeen are excited to announce their upcoming event, “Navigating Your Career in Tech,” a career-focused session designed to empower women in the tech and digital sectors.
Scheduled for Wednesday, 18th September 2024, at One Tech Hub the event will offer valuable insights for those aiming to advance their careers or transition into the tech industry.
This interactive session will feature two experts who will provide further guidance on career coaching, confidence-building , recruitment, and job search strategies:
- Laurie McPherson, career coach wing-woman, will lead a session on confidencebuilding with practical tools to help acknowledge self-worth and overcome imposter syndrome.
- Sasha Jaypalan from Grace May, a tech recruitment expert, will provide insider tips on the latest hiring trends, key skills that employers are seeking, and how to stand out in a competitive market, especially for those making a career switch.
Jana Vidis, committee member of Women in Tech Aberdeen, explained that the event was developed in response to community feedback.
“We’ve received fantastic feedback from our community throughout this year’s MeetUps, with participants sharing valuable ideas and topics they’re eager to explore. Career tips and advice were frequently requested, so we’re thrilled to bring this event to life.”
Caroline Laurenson another committee member, emphasised the event’s broad appeal, “whether you’re an established professional or someone eager to enter the tech world, this event will provide you with practical strategies to boost your career confidence, understand market trends, and enhance your personal brand.”
